I have no idea if the people claiming this is a 'successor' to Fallout in any way are shills (free copies of Atom), never played the games they are comparing this to, or are just copying what the devs claimed. Finally, there are many aspects (no spoilers) that were never finished or incorporated into the final game. But the most jarring aspect is the map sizes, which are postage stamp compared to Fallout 1 or 2. A sniper rifle with a range of 15m), again unlike most of Fallout's weapons. The weapons are poorly balanced and make no sense (e.g. The crafting is confusing, and completely cheese-able as all recipies are available on-line, as well as being known to people that played previously. The dialogue tries hard to be funny, cute, or clever, and rarely achieves anything close to that. The combat is wildly RNG based, making it very difficult at the start as you can easily be overwhelmed by massively superior forces, unlike Fallout. This is not Fallout-esque in any other meaningful way. The This is Fallout-esque in character generation, sound, UI, and basic combat. This is Fallout-esque in character generation, sound, UI, and basic combat. the ending:it was only about your companions and main quest, anything else wasn't consider, unlike fallout where every thing you change for good or bad is mentioned. some cute bugs:your companion waste his turn making stupid moves,i run from an enemy but he chase me to the end of the world even inside another guarded camp, and i expected something to happen from the guards side like well shoot the thing but no every thing was absolutely fine to them. lack of companions:i talked to every thing that walk, yet i got only 3 of 4 companions, which in turn forced me to accept them(cause combat is really hard alone, and to carry my stuff too). gender choice:being female in apocalyptic world is very fun Cons: -i expected a game play mechanics like that of wasteland like the ambush, but there is no such thing in this game which make some encounters painfully stupid. Pros: -Amazing scripts:man i really enjoyed reading in this game,it is deep, funny and matters for your decision making since the world is so pros: -Amazing scripts:man i really enjoyed reading in this game,it is deep, funny and matters for your decision making since the world is so morally ambiguous -very amusing random encounters -the mutants of atom world are well designed and you can relate and understand them. I havent played before 1.8 so i can just review the game with all its features properly working (with little bugs sometimes). Many funny references to its elders in the dialogs or descriptions also (Fallout 1&2, Fallout New Vegas, STALKER, Wasteland.). Clearly they never did as FO1&2 were as hard if not harder, original Fallout was as much savescum game as this one. This game has almost evertything!! A note for all people crying about the difficulty and claiming having played / or comparing to the original first two Fallout games. Rich story, interesting NPCs, turn-based combat, original world, original and sometime funny dialogs as in the first 2 Fallouts, excellent rpg mechanics & skill/attribute based dialog options, weapons and items galore, random encounters on world map, crafting, player base, player car, vodka. Even if it is a smaller project than its elders, this game greatly delivers. Yes even better than Wasteland 2, Atom RPG is a true spiritual successor to Fallout 1&2 (but not comparable to those Fallout titles that came after). Yes even better than Wasteland 2, Atom RPG is a true spiritual Probably one of the best post-apocalyptic RPG of the last 20 years. Probably one of the best post-apocalyptic RPG of the last 20 years.
